*In May 2005, the Alaska Legislature authorized cities to increase their E911 surcharge to help pay the costs of Enhanced 911 services. Starting January 1, 2010, the City of Nome will impose a monthly E911 surcharge of $2.00 for both wirelines and wireless phone lines sold to customers having an address within the City of Nome E911 service area.

The added charges are intended to improve public safety by updating the E911 system to facilitate faster and more accurate emergency response.

LOOK FOR 2010 REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX BILLS TO BE
MAILED OUT BY JUNE 30, 2010.

TAXES MAY BE PAID IN TWO INSTALLMENTS FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE. FOR THE 2010 TAX YEAR,THE FIRST HALF IS DUE JULY 15, 2010. THE SECOND HALF IS DUE OCTOBER 15, 2010.
