The Nome Police Department is here to serve the needs of the community. The Nome Police Department is a full service department, serving the city limits of Nome, comprised of a Chief of Police, Deputy Chief, two Patrol Sergeants, one Accreditation Manager, eight Sworn Police Officers, one full time Investigator, one Community Service Officer, and a professional dispatch center employing Communications Officers and a Communications Supervisor. Our goal is to respond to every call for service as quickly as possible and with the utmost professionalism.

Nome Police policies and tactics must be driven by current, accurate and reliable information through existing and emerging technologies that strengthen Nome’s community.

When there are complaints involving the police department, both the community and the police are best served by a system of accountability that is fair to all involved.
