However, once you arrive by plane, there are almost 300 miles of roads to explore by rental vehicle. Alaska Airlines provides year-round, daily service between Nome and Anchorage. They have a direct flight time of 75 minutes or three hours if the flight stops in Kotzebue (a neighboring Eskimo community).
