FISHING Every serious fisherman dreams of a fishing adventure in the remote areas of Alaska. Alaskan Northwest Adventures is on the Niukluk River about 8 miles below Council and is accessible from Nome via daily, scheduled commuter flights. Tom and his wife, BJ, only book a maximum of 6 people per week so that they are able to personalize your Alaskan experience. Tom was born and raised near the Niukluk River. His intimate knowledge of the river systems gives you the rare opportunity to fish with a true Alaskan.
HUNTING Having a reindeer herd make it natural for us to offer grizzly bear hunts. We also offer moose, caribou, reindeer, wolf and wolverine hunts. We operate out of White Mountain in the spring and our fishing lodge in the fall. In the fall be sure and bring your fishing pole!
WINTER SNOWMACHINE TOURS We offer tours to many different things very few people offer in the world: Reindeer herd, gold dredges, ice fishing, hot springs, catching King Crab through the ice, Iditarod Dog Sled Race, and the list goes on. We will put a custom package together for you to fit your adventure.
Other adventures await you at Alaskan Northwest Adventures ...your imagination is their challenge.

Fishing: Let Jerry and Clara be your hosts at their remote Golsovia River Lodge accessible by river boat from St. Michael. A typical excursion consists of boating to the home-style lodge on a Monday morning, viewing wildlife along the way during the one hour ride, and returning back to St. Michael the same way for a Sunday afternoon flight back to Nome. You will be a personal guest at the lodge, not a client.....fished late? Sleep late! But why would you want to when the fish are right outside your front door?
Dog Sled Tours: "Mush" your own team of veteran Iditarod huskies on ancient Eskimo trails in NW Alaska! Jerry Austin, 18-time Iditarod finisher and charter inductee to the Iditarod Hall of Fame, along with his wife Clara, offer week-long adventures in January, February and March. Additionally, there are two trips that coincide with the Official Iditarod Finishers Banquet in Nome. Color brochure and video available on request.
