Our Mission
       We strive to inform, enrich, and empower every citizen and visitor of Nome, Alaska by creating and promoting free and easy access to a vast array of ideas and information and by supporting lifelong learning and love of reading. We acquire, organize, and provide relevant library materials, ensure access to other collections and information sources throughout the nation, serve our public with expert and caring assistance, and reach out to all members of our community.
Our Hours
Monday - Thursday: Noon - 7pm
Friday and Saturday: Noon - 6pm
Sundays and Official Holidays: Closed
Our Services
     Reference service is an email, fax, or a phone call away. We also offer internet access, wireless service, fax, photocopying, online tax forms, DVDs, inter-library loans, magazines, newspapers, access to microfilm machine and newspapers on microfilm, new, old, and rare books on Alaska and the Seward Peninsula.
Our Policies
Permanent Patron Privileges
  • Any registered resident of the City of Nome or the surrounding Nome area may check out materials and equipment.
  • Registration requires one form of photo identification (current driver's license or photo ID) and proof of Nome area residence (utility bill or phone bill, complete physical address and Nome post office box number).

Temporary Patron Privileges

  • A temporary patron account may be opened for 6 months at the cost of $20.00.

Children's Library Requirements

  • Children under the age of 17 must have a parent or guardian present when registering for check out privileges.
  • Children under the age of 17 must have a signed library permission form to use library computers.
  • Parents or guardians are responsible for the return of all materials borrowed, and are  responsible for fees and fines incurred.
  • No one under the age of 7 may register to check out materials.

Kegoayah Kozga Library is committed to supporting early literacy and understands how important a child's introduction to reading is during their first few years of development. We encourage and continue to support all of our patrons to pursue reading at all ages and stages of their life.
  • Preschool Story Hour:  Year-round. It's fun and free! Parents must be accompanied by children.
  • Summer Reading Program: Begins the last day of school and ends July 31st. Visit the library to receive your summer reading materials. Children's craft programming is also available during the summer; hours are 10:00am to 11:30am, every Thursday.
